Golden Week is a longstanding holiday in Japan, but for those of us outside of Japan now, the tradition typically brings with it deals on Japanese video games.
Both PlayStation and Xbox are holding their own Golden Week Sales this year with some great fighting game discounts including the recently released King of Fighters 15 and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s rerelease.
Although the game won’t be receiving rollback netcode until this Summer, now may be the best time to pick up Ultimax since its currently on sale for $21.
Microsoft might not have as many deals on fighters that Sony has, but they arguably have the best one around with KOF15 being marked down to just over $40.
Other games and DLC included in the sales extravaganza includes Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, Tekken 7, Guilty Gear Strive Samurai Shodown, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Soul Calibur 6, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle and BlazBlue: Central Fiction among others.
Those who don’t want to spend any extra money can still take advantage of a pretty sweet deal too with Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition receiving another free trial with all 45 characters on PlayStation and Steam until May 11.
PlayStation’s Golden Week Sale is scheduled to last until May 11 while Xbox’s deals are good through May 9. You can check out the best fighting game discounts available below although prices and availability may differ between regions.
